So, here it is, the day we’ve been waiting for all year… Christmas eve, it has finally arrived.
I’ll be spending it with my lovely girlfriend Amelia, here in Stockholm. The weather is downright boring, we’ve got a few millimeters of snow and it’s cold as f*ck outside.. The past few evenings have been full of riots and random jobos setting things on fire and throwing rocks at the police.. But at least that magic Christmas spirit thrives within our appartment, my first Christmas with Amelia is definitely one of the very best ever..
Merry Christmas to you all!
I have a severe problem, I get distracted too easy. A great example is this very morning, I woke up early, I was all by my self. I was supposed to work on a customer’s project, but did I? No, I didn’t… I ended up cleaning the whole kitchen and then went to the store effectively killing all my work-time this morning. I’ll do almost anything to come up with an excuse for not working.. No matter how boring or downright stupid the excuse might be. I mean, cleaning should be less fun than writing code..
I can not force my self to work at home, it is simply impossible. Do you people working at home have any helpful ideas? I don’t have a spare room, so I can’t build an office at home. Do I really have to go to the office to get something done at all? Please, help me!
I got bored one day in the not too distant past and made this new theme for my blog. The reason behind it was not so much to redesign my blog, but rather to learn how to make themes for wordpress (my girlfriend has been hinting about wanting me to write one for her blog).
It has been online for a few days now, I quite like it! what do you guys think of it? (Please, please please don’t be cruel and slay my lack of graphical design skills)
Every now and then, life takes an unexpected turn, just a little something that you didn’t expect.. One thing that I didn’t expect is that I’d do something that I’ve said I would never do for the last 15 years.. I’ve moved to Stockholm, hell on earth. ;)
I was a happy networking guy, working at a regional ISP in Gothenburg, when I met Amelia… I fell in love and decided that I couldn’t live 500 km away from her.. So I did it, I moved to Stockholm. And here I am.. Writing this blog post from our home in Tensta.
Yes, I know, every one I know from Gothenburg will tease me for this forever… Even my friends in Stockholm tease me for moving here.. Do they also hate their city?…
I’ve been living here for three weeks now, and I’m slowly getting used to it. The way people talk don’t actively annoy me anymore and the subway becomes less scary and confusing.. It’s starting to feel like home.. *shrug*
My brother has always said to me that “you’ll never, ever find a girl if you only hang around in front of the computer all the time…” Turns out he was very wrong indeed!
Thanks to vacum, I found Amelia on #data.se @ freenode… She’s definitely the love of my life, I can’t stand not being with her. She only has one problem, which is living 500km away from me in Stockholm.. Most of you know how much I looooove that city… What can I say, love makes you do strange things… Any one got a need for a Unix/Networking ninja in Stockholm, let me know!

Don’t we look cute together? :)
